New smartphone with Android: Motorola Pro

Motorola has unveiled its new smartphone with Android operating system at the CeBIT in Hannover, Germany: the Motorola Pro. It should come between April and June 2011 on the German market and be available from Vodafone. It should be identical to the droid Pro already introduced by Motorola.

The Pro from Motorola has a QWERTY keyboard, which is placed directly below the display. As a shortcoming, it has been recorded that the touch screen is not particularly large. He has a 3.1 inch diagonal and a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. The four Android buttons are arranged between display and keyboard. The Smartphone is 60 x 119 x 11.7 mm large and 134 g hard.

Photos and videos can be recorded with the 5-megapixel camera on the back. It has auto focus and dual LED lighting. The integrated processor has a clock speed of 1 GHz. The internal flash memory has a size of 2 GB, the memory is 512 MB in size. The memory can be upgraded with a micro-SD card of size up to 32 GB.

The UMTS mobile phone supports the GSM networks, GPRS, EDGE and HSDPA. The transmission speed is up to 10.2 Mbps. It is still unknown whether the Motorola Pro has to 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi. Bluetooth 2.1 and EDR are available as well as an A-GPS receiver with e compass. There is a 3, 5-mm phone jack that supports DNLA for connecting headphones.

The Pro comes with the Android version 2.2. Whether at some point an upgrade to 2.3 is planned, was not commissioned by Motorola. The battery should make possible a talk time of 8 hours in GSM mode.
