More than just an eBook reader: the Tablet from ARCHOS

The French manufacturer of Archos has introduced eReader his new Android Tablet 70 (b) at the CeBIT in Hannover with the ARCHOS. It is not only an eBook reader, but a real tablet, which is however suitable for reading eBooks. It has a touch screen in the size of 7 inches. The resolution is 800 x 480 pixels and is therefore not always optimal for wider Web pages. The size of the tablets can be seen, because it is 190 x 130 x 11.2 mm. The weight is 370 g. Thus, the tablet with the Android 2.1 operating system is quite handy. The Cabinet is made of plastic, but it seems to be quite stable. The touchscreen has a resistive input technology, which is very conveniently situated in the production and allows you to enter with the pen or with your fingernail.

The screen of tablets is virtually mirror-free, the colors are however somewhat pale. Equipped with a special user interface is the touch screen which gives the impression of a bookshelf. The books that last read, appear on the homescreen. The Tablet supports DRM protected EPUB, PDF and FB2 files. The latest eBooks can not only bought with the Tablet, but also read. The virtual page turning is possible with the touch screen or with buttons on the edge of the display. The user can adjust the font size and create bookmarks. The new book pages are displayed without great delay.

To get on the Internet, has b / g. videos can be played p the eReader Wi-Fi up to a resolution of 720. The eReader has a built-in speaker for playback of music. Headphones for improving the quality of the sound can be connected to the 3, 5 mm jack. The eReader has an internal memory of 4 GB, which can be expanded with a microSD card.

Access to the Android market is not possible, however, the tablet with apps from ARCHOS Appslib can be extended. The duration of the battery is specified with 8 hours. The Tablet is the right thing, want to spend much money for all because the price is to be among 130,00 €.
