And yet an eReader: the Tablet HPad A116

Hanvon has unveiled its improved Tablet HPad A116 at CeBIT in Hannover. It has an area of 199 x 126 x 10.8 mm and is equipped with the operating system Android 2.2 (Froyo). An upgrade to Android 2.3 is planned. The Cabinet is made of aluminium and magnesium. The device with a 7-inch touch screen has a 1, 3-megapixel camera for video telephony on the front. It is equipped with a 5-megapixel camera on the back. It has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. A device with 3G-Schnittstelle has already been announced. There is a 3, 5 mm phone jack available for connecting headphones. The HPad with a HDMI output was equipped for connection to a flat-screen TV. The internal memory is 2 GB, and can be expanded with a microSD card. The memory is something small with 512 MB.

The screen resolution is comfortable 1024 x 600 pixels. The display is clear and full of contrast. There are no mechanical operating elements except for the purchase and switch. A touch panel is located at the bottom of the screen. The HPad is equipped with a 1 GHz processor, DDR2 RAM.

From the homescreen from, you have access to the book of Hanvon to order eBooks. For documents in EPUB, PDF, txt, and HTML format, a reader software is installed. Apps can be ordered via the Hanvon app market.

MAh, the battery has a capacity of 3,300. It consists of a lithium-polymer. The runtime is specified with 6 hours for the playback of videos and with 8 hours for reading eBooks.

When the HPad in Germany comes on the market and what should it cost can not be said. Probably can be expected with the launch only in the second half of 2011.
